Historical trips

Gialova Bay, much like almost any other area in Greece, is a place where history was written. During the Battle of Sphacteria (the name of the upstream island), in 425 B.C., Athens fought against Sparta and overthrew them in the course of the Peloponnesian War. And in the Battle of Navarino, a significant milestone was set for the Greeks eventually becoming independent from the Ottoman Empire in 1827.
